That’s one bonus on the Honda, the recoil starter for backup.

anyone have the SRA model Hondas ? Curious on the ride quality.

fuel efficiency seems good on the Hondas , comes in handy on those long trips 4 hr from a fuel station

The rubicon sitting in my driveway has SRA, as well as the 350 and 300in my shop.

Ride quality? Comparable to riding a boulder on cement.

Oh man, still on the fence hey? Lol Next thing you know you will be looking for a 1990 Toyota SR5 extended cab with low kms and no rust LOL…………

Like I said the 520 is kinda gutless IMO. It can probably do most of what a larger atv can do but its working hard. The grizzly is harder on fuel because it has way more power, but its not really hard on fuel, you can ride it all day long on one tank in the fall if you dont want to get off and walk. Why does power matter. Well, heres a quick story. One of my grizzlies died this fall, the newer one with only 11000k. Its a 2019. My son SOS me with the spot connect. Anyways I we were hunting about 15 kms apart and about 40kms from the truck and it was -22. So my 20000km grizzly pulled the tub trailer with a big buck in it, all our gear, and the dead atv all the way back to the truck on unplowed roads in diff lock. There were big hills the entire way. It was a gruelling task. There was times where I was only doing 5kms an hour and a few times I spun out and had to back up and jerk it to get moving again. Thank God the duramax started when we got there as we were both ice men.

Also, I would have to double check but I think the pull start is not available anymore????

Oh ya, I forgot I saw on kijiji that honda makes big engine again in ATVs. A 700, I bet that would be alot more fun to ride than a 520. I know a few Natives that have the Pioneer 520 and both utvs smoke so hmmmmmm? Not good, I also know an other native that had a beautiful 520 top of the line and he barely used it, he was a supervisor. When his atv was less than 3 yrs old it had less 500k on it and still looked brand new and the motor calved. I forgot to ask why but about $8000 fixed it. Yikes!!!

The solid rear axle is very reliable but rides like a lumber wagon so if you ride that machine all the time it will beat you up and tire you out. Thats a fact

Heres an other fact the hondas that have the “automatics” that shift the gears for you all eventually fail, its an electric solenoid. Its just a matter of time.

Anyways Hondas are still great ATVs…….. but they don’t walk on water or make wine out of water, only Jesus can, and he probably rides a Yamaha grizzly special edition with an 850 twin. Ha
If the world is warming why are there so many new snowflakes?

If we are all equal why do you demand special treatment?

You can not comply your way out of tyranny.

    Fire them ALL!

I just bought a new 2024 Honda Rubicon 520, it’s loaded and a dream to ride, before I bought my first one I talked to four different bike mechanics and everyone said if you want reliability buy a Honda we just don’t see any to fix.
    Honda it is.

if that doesn’t prove its capabilities I don’t know what does. Congrats on the buck.

funny thing I had a pretty nice 87 Toyota pickup I totally rebuilt back in 2016, sold it to buy a quad. Man I miss that little bush truck.

def more bang for your buck with the Yamahas feature wise

LOL... I love the Yamaha testimonial... "I can pull out my other broken down Yamaha with it, Honda couldn't do that!"

Maybe the Honda wouldn't need to!

Just kidding around, all these break down at times. Honda has the reputation not to, but of course everything can.

My new Rubicon has recoil start too.

    Re: Honda ATVs

Purchase a 680 Rincon in 2008 new - drove it till 2022 without any major issues. It went everywhere you would want it to go. Only issue I had was similar to srupp - had the machine turn off after coming down off the mountain in the snow. Couldn't shift gears. Turned the key on and off, nothing - gave it 2 minutes. Ran through the start up and everything thing went well. I changed the battery out after that and never had another problem.

Bought a 2018 Ranger Northstar Crew - love the concept - hate the polaris quality. If I get the kids on their own machines - I will go back to Honda in a heart beat. Heard great things about the Yamaha's, but that Honda never flinched or let me down in the back country.

    Honda +1
