I would call it the “Richardson Backcountry”, but it’s an extension of highway 63 north of Fort Mcmurray to Fort Chipewyan. During the summer there’s a barge that brings cargo up that way on the Athabasca and during the winter they flood that road with water and turn it into a winter road. I think you can drive right up to Fort Smith and into the territories through there in the winter. During the summer it’s open to off-highway vehicles and there’s quite a few minimalist campsites around and random lakes. There’s probably 1000s of kms of trails and roads up there and two separate sand dunes.
