So it was just another day hunting deer out the old meritt highway, Had bought a black bear tag at the begging of hunting season just in case I came across a big yogie bear. Late afternoon hunt me and a few buddies decided we would walk a big ravine with patches of poplars. A popular spot for us which held a ton of deer. I decided to walk the highside of the ravine and they would walk the lowside. Thinking we would push deer to one another in the openings. I decided to walk to a little hill on my right side to see if I could see where they were going and I would plan my next route. Not to my surprise they both had there rifles up, I thought forsure they were on a deer, so I put up my binos they were scanning a group of poplars ahead of me, I didn't see a thing when I scanned the poplars. Again looking back at them they had seen me and were pointing that way and making all sorts of motions with there hands in that direction, none which I understood. So I put down my binoculars flipped out the bipod and started to scan. I ranged the poplars at 270, and just as I put the range finder down boom there is big old yogie sauntering his way out the right side of the poplars into the open field. I chambered one into the 308 norma mag, aimed for the boiler room and squeezed. Bear didn't make it more then five feet and toppled. I The photos are in the shop cause none of us remembered to bring a camera or a phone when we went walking and it was to dark to take photos when we managed to get it back to the truck. Worst drag out ive ever had also...
