Hello all,

Have not posted for a while, but our annual moose hunt is approaching and I need help from my fellow hunters on the new area for us. ( My buddy filled in the LEHs and instead of familiar 7-28 he applied in 7-29). We have two any bull draws in 7-29 MacKenzie and I could not find much info from HBC. I do not need any honey holes, just some general directions/tips, possible campground locations, fishing possibilities, potential hazards, issues with natives, road closures etc. The hunt is planned from 28th of Sept till 7th of Oct. Thank you all in anticipation. Please PM if info is sensitive.

Go over the causeway and head towards the Nation River, about 24 kms in a great gravel pit on your left side, call from camp and side roads around there are productive

I have had issues with the F/N's there, more up 7 - 38 39 , lots of G bears where your going too. Take a boat or a canoe to increase your access also.

Good luck

Working up that way and haven't seen much for game. It has been warm but its cooling off, so hope that will change things.

380km in?! Wow, that is impressive ride into the woods. I will check if it is still 7-29. Thank you.

DnD, just checked the MU borders, and it seems that you are talking more about 7-40? 370 kms north from causeway is even past 7-38. Thank you for the info anyway.

Is there any deer or elk?

Dude we have hunted it many times and always got moose with LEH and only 24kms or so from causeway, no need to drive in 5 hrs, It's only for a moose but if you want to burn gas and time fill your boots

Not to derail 7-29 subject ohotnik but could you offer a little guidance for 7-28? Furthest north I've been is 7-13 where we usually did well hunting moose but due to heavy logging we applied a little more north and did get a draw for bull moose...1 tag. You mentioned being familiar with 7-28 and if you could offer any advice as to areas to avoid or directions to point in it would be most appreciated. Thanks. DB.

Another nice area there is just past curve lake but that 110km in, to me it's not necessary though
