I came across this track behind my place last week. It looked different than wolf tracks I normally see so I took a picture of it. What are your thoughts? Thanks.

No claws, Could be a cougar track.

Thanks Ruger.
That's what I thought at first than I noticed what looks like claw marks above the pads? This had me second guessing. It also seems so small. I thought maybe a dog with clipped nails of some sort (people walk dogs there). I just heard tonight that a cougar was spotted on my street. Just hoping to confirm either way.

Not cougar as you can plainly see claw marks on both tracks. I would think a large canine of some sort, probably the same animal for both tracks.

Most importantly, the heel pad doesn't have three lobes like a cat does. I also see claws therefore it is a canine.

Seems too slender to be a cat print..and it looks vaguely like nails are there so probably canine..
