Well, FINALLY went out hunting with a friend and got 3 grouse (just enough for a good stir-fry).

This might not sound like much, but having grown up in a non-hunting household and having taken a year to get to this point, It means the world to me.

Now if I can only find a buck or two around here, I'll be well established. :-D:-D:-D

Right on man. That's 3 times what I personally got this weekend. And I was in prime grouse country.

If you get a deer in 6-15... You'll be my hero

Some of the old timers tell me that they are here . . . in pockets.

Been given a couple of locations to scout.

Congrats on the grouse. I went on my first hunting trip last week and was thoroughly outwitted by a large scope-shy grouse. Now I can't stop thinking about it :(

Congrats on the start of a long slippery slope. The journey is the best part of this whole thing called hunting.

Congratulations! I remember my first grouse and kill (same from non-hunting family) - it was like I was looking at monster buck, dropped into the prone and concentrated on that shot so much. Kind of funny now.

I was out last night in a new spot and didn't see anything but a couple of Bull moose. . . too bad that its a no-go-zone for Moose hunting now. :-/

Just that the two times I've gone have really set the hook in me. I can't stop thinking about going out again. . . and again. . .:-|

Congrats on the successful first hunt. I'm in the same boat with the non hunting household, and am psyched to get out soon.
