took the boy out this morning for some grouse and maybe some rabbit in 2 19 didn't see anything :( thinking it might be still to warm ? I heard it should be a good year for them. What does everyone else think?

Took the dogs out twice this weekend for grouse. Went around the blackberries and every where there was clover and other berries. Nothing but wet boots this morning. Before hunting season they were around. Region 2-08.

When it's quite hot, poke about creek beds or sloughs surrounded in deciduous brush and trees, with or without water. Otherwise, head up to the top of high slashes about 3-4 years and older for blue grouse....you might also get a shot at pigeons if there's elderberry around. I have seen grouse along the Hoover Lake road, but it is quite long and steep if you're packing a heavy shotgun (they're pretty spooky for a 22) and for a youngster.

Iv been out alot this summer (6-04), doing trapline scouting and trail cams and such. Tons of chickens and rabbits, one of the best years in years. Lots of cubbys of 5,6,7+. I find early morning and right at dusk is when I'm seeing them the most.

havin a great year on grouse bagged quite a few so far with steelpulse, we got 7 ruffies and a rabbit today in region 3, two other days with 6 and 5 birds, few rabbits too, they aren't on the roads too much you have to go find them but it made for some great hunting today.

Saw 15 last Wednesday in region 3. Only managed to nail 3, even the dog was disgusted with me! The underbrush is so thick still that they are hard to see.

I saw and heard a lot in region 2-6 in the spring and early summer but I haven't seen any since Sept 8 despite putting on a good 100kms on various trails and FSRs over the weekend. Classic.

I saw a huge one on a trail in 2-2 around 6PM on Saturday. It flew up into a tree right on the side of the trail, but disappeared deeper into the bush as soon as I went to put my scope on it. He knew what was up. That was the only game I saw up there from the 12th to 16th. Tons of snowshoe hare around, but no opening for them in the region.

Should be really good in Francois Lake. Was Very good this weekend on the Stuart Cassiar.
2 of us got 7 without spending too much time. Was my first time out hunting, and I can't wait to get back out there.

Had a great time with my new pup in region 5. Saw a dozen or so in 2 days. Not many on the roads however.
