I would just take it to House of Knives in Willowbrook Mall. They have a pretty nice whetstone there and do pretty good work.

It's a bit of a hassle but sent it to zt. They sharpen for free for the life of the knife. They should pay the shipping if it came that way. I bought a zt 350 and it came razor sharp and still is, sounds like you got one they missed the final pass on or something.
seems to me you would want to be able to sharpen your own knife. if you don't have a sharpening system you might buy a Lansky set, possibly with diamond stones if your steel is really hard. The Lansky set has instructions. Should do the trick. You might contact ZT and ask what angle you should sharpen at -- probably 20 degrees but possibly 25.

i'd want my $$ back on a knife that came dull.
that alone would turn me off the brand.
and you'd best learn to sharpen your own blades.
do you have someone sight your guns in too?
