Does anyone have the new Oregon 600? I am looking to get a new GPS, old one died and wanting to go with the new touch screen models. The Oregon 600 looks sweet.

Any thoughts good or bad.... lets hear what you have to say.

thanks!!!

Some people don't like the touch screen as it can be sensitive to cold. I have the 400 but have never experienced problems even in -25. I think that this becomes more of a problem if it is left exposed to very cold temps for extended periods like mounting on a quad (mine stays in my pocket while hiking).

If you are in to custom maps, the 600 is excellent as it allows you far more tiles than other units. I also like the larger screen. There are arguments to be made for the oregon and the 62 series but either way, you can't go wrong with a garmin.

Thanks Mr Crockett,

my old unit was a garmin so I know they are good. Was planning on keeping it warm so shouldn't be an issue.

Might just have to spend some money.
