I used the x2. You had to add the scabbord as an extra. It was a good pack . I just sold it and bought the new eberlestock team elk pack. It has the built in scabbord just like my beloved eberlestock dragonfly and a meat carry system. It is bigger than the x2 and smaller than the dragonfly, about perfect for a daypack. I just loaded mine up but havent used it yet.

Why not the Badlands? Im happy with my 2200 but some of the pockets seem too small to be usefull.

I have the badlands superday and dont care too much for it. rifle doesnt stay on my shoulder with the thick shoulder straps. and the "rifle scabbard" ,more like a little fold out but pocket, would do me no good for a quick shot at an animal. I'm looking at the eberlestock gunrunner for next year.

Blacks Creek Canadian, best pack I have ever owned and used.

Compresses to a nice day pack, expands to a meat hauler (whole Rosie elk came out in that pack...in quarters of course)

Lots of there, need to find the one that fit you best.

Cheers

Mystery ranch Metcalf. It is a great size for a day pack with or without the lid, you can compress it and then uncompress it and use the meat hauler if you get something. I have used it for multi day trips as well as day hunts so it has plenty of space and it is lighter than most of the MR packs.

It doesn't come with a scabbard but I made one of my own using part of the kifaru gun bearer and some cinch straps.

Hope this isn't to late to help

I bought a Tenzing 2250 this year for a daypack and I love it, so much that I sold my Eberlestock J-107 It doesn't have a scabbard but I prefer the Kifaru gunslinger on my pack anyways. I still have a Badlands Superday but don't really use it anymore.

Buddy uses a badlands 2200, rifle sling is not fast to get a gun out of, works well if your not over 6'1". I broke the waist buckle on mine on our first day of a one week hunt. Used my big bag, mr nice 6500, when we shot our moose it was nice to have It already with me. I simply opened it up all the way and put a front and rear quarter as well as the back straps And antlers in it for the short journey back to the road. (it was a smallish moose). My buddy strapped two quarters to the outside of his badlands 2200. And proceeded to suffer on the pack out. Moral of story, get a pack YOU like. Just about anything will work if you want it to.

MEC packs are pratical good value.

i took my mec day pack, straped it to an old pack frame and put a gun scabbard on the side. its awsome, used it last two weekends in deep timber. super quick draw outta the scabbard, and very comfy.

My hunting partner just got one, and used it on my successful elk hunt. The scabbard was awesome, and it was capable of hauling an elk quarter. I liked it a lot.

call them in person. I did a few years ago for my J104 (least I think that's what it was) and talked to Glen himself. Gave him the card number and address etc. and it arrived as he said it would.
About to do the same thing for an xmas present for the son as well.
