About to do my first CORE course. What fees do you guys usually charge? For full course and challenges?

I paid 100 for the course with the book. Good luck, I hope things turn out well for you, we need more instructors out there.

Exams themselves are 25 and 15 for PAL and CORE.
It's up to you to calculate your time and instruction value and set a price for the actual courses.
Good luck!

Go see Brian in Mission at BC Outdoor Education. Great guy. My family just did the course and I couldn't be happier.

We charge $100.00, and this last year I have given $25.00 for additional family members. The book, I recommend they purchase ahead and familiarize themselves with the material. If they buy it from us $20.00. We do the course in our home, so there is little overhead. We are only permitted to charge $10.00 for a challenge - legislation.

I use to charge $65 for the course and that include the $30 admin. fee for bcwf. I don't charge for a challenge. as you can see i'am not in it for the money

I'd charge more than the average guy. Because you know a lot more than the guy I took my course from. The guy I took mine from couldn't even help me find an area to kill a black bear. You should also offer a reloading course twice a year.

The fellow that taught the course when my wife took it was explaining that he was so skilled and experienced that he could gut and skin a full grown moose in 15 minutes....by himself. I doubt Gatehouse could beat that. :-D

I think I paid 20-30$ to challenge it. As for what to charge it would depend on a lot of things. More people less $ per person. Less people more $ per person. Are you renting out space eg: Hall or Gun Club? From the people I know that have taken it in the last couple years the price has been from $100-$200. Some with 1 instructor - 4 students some 1 instructor - 15 students

^^^ X2 with ammo prices on the constant rise reloading is becoming popular

Challenges are $10 - if people were charged more I would report that to the BCWF.

Most of the courses are between $100-150 depending on length, many are free at the club level or a minimal charge.

Most tutors/adjudicators for recreation and academics charge between $35-$60 and hour - this hourly rate is inclusive of overhead and prep time but excludes materials which legally (CRA) can be recovered as consumables:

I agree with Big Boar you should look at the higher end because you have a lot of experience: However you are also new so If you do not have a waiting list???

I would take a reloading course off of you if you offered - I would look into liability first though...

I charge $125 which includes the manual and the testing fees. My courses run 18 - 20 hrs depending on the student or if they have taken the PAL. I deduct the price of the Firearms test if they already have a PAL. As well I also deduct the cost of the manual from the course if they have their own. We are only allowed to charge $10 per test for the written and Practical courses. If you are being charged more report it to the BCWF

Are you in Kelowna? My youngest son wants to take the course just wondering who is putting one on soon?
