What can you tell me about area 7-58 and/or 7-45? It is my first time to hunt off the Island and we are heading up that way mid Sept. (My partner has spent much time hunting Kamloops,PG etc. and is experanced). for equipment we have a good solid quad and a Honda crf 230 bike. I been watching the weather but I dont know what to expect for off road eg. dirt, gravel, gumbo. Can I hunt off a bike?? I will be be equiped with racks etc. thanx :-D

gumbo lol is not the word,i have a lot of experience riding motorcycle from dirt bikes to big decker and would not even try riding that gumbo on a bike,if it stay dry your fine but if it rains even just a little bit your f***.elk moose deer(white tails)and mule, are all there in good numbers

Backcountry roads have pretty much dried up, but cutlines are still soggy.

Good question. I wish people who ask questions about areas would share what they found and how they did.

Sorry ive been away from the forum and computer for awhile. We seen no deer, One cow elk was taken out, we went there becouce cow elk were open . We saw one big bull moose on the 3rd day as we were coming into camp it was allready too late in the day , a cow moose came right in where we were camping. We had a feast of grouse. nice country good potential. one thing to note is lots of gas drilling and there for lots of people working. We where too early by about 2 weeks I say for the erea.yes we got skunked but I did have a good time. I know now what to expect now, leave early Oct and have a wall tent and stove or something I hate being wet and cold and be prepared for gumbo I like to quote Brutus it sums up things best"dirt if dry good wet no go"
