Is there any way to get your hands on newer satellite images. I'm finding the ones on google way out of date. Is there any other sites that have maps to view?

Thanks in advance,

The satellite images on Bing are "sometimes" a little newer. It depends on where you're looking.

You can try iMapsBC (http://maps.gov.bc.ca/ess/sv/imapbc/) and turn on the image layer. If you want current images then hire a amateur pilot and go for a ride. They're happy to split the cost with someone.

The fact that you have a tool like Google Earth to to check out remote areas is amazing.

Too bad we aren't as important as the States... Bing has 30cm imagery of the entire continental US. Maybe some day... Link (http://www.bing.com/blogs/site_blogs/b/maps/archive/2012/09/18/global-ortho-amp-17-million-sqkm-of-new-satellite-imagery.aspx)
