good luck ,that's a fantastic saw but a rare one, is the cylinder beyond repair? the piston might be the same as a 242xp but don't quote me, great little mag case saw.

I had that saw, great saw but the cylinder and piston are $600.00. Unless you can buy at a reasonable price somewhere, part out the saw and sell parts online and buy a disposable throw away saw for under $200.00. small saws pack great on a quad but lack power. No big deal.

Make sure you resolve the cause of it running lean if you rebuild it, which is the cause of the scuffed jug and slug (unless straight gas was run in it). Leaking crank seals, vaccuum leak between the carb and cylinder, fuel line to carb sucking air or plugged tank vent, carb in need of rebuild are all possibilities, as is improperly tuning the carb. If the cause isn't corrected the new cylinder will suffer the same fate, and it won't take long.

You bet found a cracked-leaking fuel line from carb to tank but that's it crank seal look like new, carb looks good inside too, always ran new clean fuel with Husky oil .

Oh good, sounds like you were already on it like an obese kid on cake. I rebuilt an older husky 36 last year with the same damage from a plugged fuel tank vent, then found it was too small for my patience level (used to cut firewood with the old mans husky 2100, and have a "small" husky 65) so sold it. I got my investment in parts back, and about $5 for my time.:-|

Sell it on ebay as a parts saw, it should fetch good money and put it against a good used 346xp

When Al Coop use to own Rev It Up in Lillooet, he had a good used parts assortment in the basement. Not sure what has happened since he sold the place. It's only a phone call.

My saw isnt quite that old but about 10 years ago when it ate a sparkplug which smashed up the piston pretty good I dealt with Arrow equipment in North Vancouver. They have been around for a long time and have alot of bits in the back.
