Did your cousin take that photo? No offence to you or your cousin but something seems kinda off about that picture. Could just be that I'm looking at it on an iPhone though.

That's a huge hook it's hanging on. Step back yet a few more paces and the Killer whales will be frightened.

I have no clue who took the picture or if it is real or not.... If it is that thing is ridiculous.

Really you guys? Its called perspective. That fish is right close to the camera, and the guy is standing way back. Definitely not photoshopped

Maybe the fisherman's name is Ling?

Fella
08-21-2013, 01:19 PM
If that's the case then why is he a world record? Maybe he can jump higher than other guys named Ling?

bingo.
I can't believe anyone fell for this one for a second.
it's not a huge hook, it's hanging from this eave of the shack, close to the camera.
and mr. ling is standing over beneath the far eave.
no photoshop, just creative picture taking.

Horrible photoshop job! the dead giveaway is the s hook used to hang the fish, the s hook is used in construction to hang light fixtures. and the proportions are unrealistic.

Just like sitting a few feet behind a an animal to make the rack look huge. When you see moose pictures in magazines. Look closely and you'll notice the hunter is normally sitting near the back end of the moose.

you guys are right out of it....that's gotta be the biggest ling ever and I've seen a few.

Take a close look at the lighting. Shadow on the left side of the guy's face and no shadow on the fish.

May be a large fish but hard to tell how big. Whenever I personally take a picture I make the point of having a hand on the animal/fish so there is no guessing on where the person is standing. Anyone can make a 25 lbs fish look like a 50 lber!

I use the same technique of perspective photography to make my animals look like trophies.....

Here is a 64 lber I got in 2011 in Rupert. My biggest by far. If I include the 12 lb ling he was eating on the end of my line he would have been 76 lbs.....

You can get a good idea of the size by looking at the blood trails on the fish. You all know from experience how thick they usually are, they wouldnt be bigger and wider just because its a big fish

More specifically it is a Copper rock cod

More correctly it is a Copper Rockfish, it is not a member of the cod family.

To me the way the dock meets the shack on the right side of the photo looks odd too...
