View Full Version : Really Big Stone Sheep--8 years??

My friend says this ram got this big probably due to good feed and easy winters someplace, of course the location and everything were never revealed, but this year somewhere in BC...

Nice!! I think genetics, quality of forage, and wintering conditions all play a role. Also, I suspect that some GOs are using mineral supplements, which may enhance horn growth.

I saw pic last week, its a hawg.. his partner took a huge 7-8 year old also, not quite this big, but a sweet ram also..

Bingo!!!!! GO's using mineral supplements to enhance horn growth!
Nice sheep though. If they are going to keep that up we will all have to start hitting the GO's areas even harder!!! :)

Is it just me or does the Ram in BCBillies Avatar look alot like the one in this thread?

As I told others I'd given my left nut to have harvested the sheep in this thread. I saw the field photo of this ram and it's not like mine. This one has a deeper curl and is waaayyy heavier. The similarities are the age and the flare.
