Well as kids generally do, mine keeps on growing and I was gettin tired of him taking up most of the seat and footrest on the quad. The wife was not in favor of buying another quad so had to revert to rednecking the quad I have to accomodate both the boy and the dog!!
Pulled the back rack and installed some 1 1/2" square tubing to allow me to reinstall the back rack well back of the seat. Cut some wood to fit and bolted it to the tubing as well then installed a folding boat seat and a couple holy crap handles and the boy was all set!
Built a box for the front for the dog and 1 gun rack....just need some paint and we're good to go!!!

Can you turn all the way or does the rifle hit the box???
Definitely a successful redneck set-up.
Good for you spending quality time together.
Most kids would rather play video games nowadays.

Marc...you aren't kidding, he's not far off 6 foot tall now

Ufish....I made sure to have clearance for full turning radius on the handlebars.
The front box limits what you can see right in front of the bike and I will probably cut it down some once the pup gets more used to riding on the quad. All in all pretty happy with how it worked out though.

Stay of steep hills with that rig doubling your kid its a recipe for disaster.

That's getting to be quite a load for that quad. I know where there is 2003 polaris 400 with only 3000 km on it for a very good price. And no, it's not mine.

Saw something like this in Tulameen back in May, only that the car was a lot smaller.

For the dog box put a piece of carpet on the bottom so your dog wont slip around.
