region 8 elk

Went and checked my tcam about 2 weeks ago and had my first pic of a cow elk ever on a cam, let it sit till today and when i got up to the area that has taken me along time to find my trace mineral block was cracked with a large chunk out of it. I instantly got goose bumps since i have not had a deer crack a block before and was thinking buckzilla! Uploaded the card in the rain dropped another 40 lbs of softener salt and headed out. When I got home i saw what i didnt think i would ever see 15 minutes from my house, a bull elk. Nope nevermind 2 bull elk and 1 was a legal bull.

Now the legal bull, not a monster but still bigger than any others i have seen here(never seen an elk here lol)

Very nice! Great to see elk are expanding in the Okanagan. Maybe I will be hunting elk not far from my home soon. Awesome photos!

Having never shot an Elk yet, I think I would be tempted to take the legal one, even knowing he has a year or two before he gets to his full potential, it would be hard to let him walk. Nice pics.
