Was looking for new areas and was told Sparwood was good for elk. Low and behold got an LEH so I was hoping for my hunt in the fall if anyone might be able to give me a couple pointers or a direction I should go up there? Thanks hope I get some help

Yup, drive up there ..set up camp and go hunting, its that easy my friend...and fall is probably the best choice for hunting :-D

they're all over the place out there, my Uncle's been working there a couple years now and sees them all the time

so your saying almost any FSR there is good? like Cummings FSR

Add salt to everything you hear. It's a small place, locals are tight lipped. There are more elk further south.

We had a draw there for cow/calf but only saw them on "mine" property....no hunting.
Just 1 legal bull but it was getting too dark.

I heard the cow/calf draw or season was closed in that area for this year.
Just check the updates for your draw.

IMHO...tough LEH draw.

4-23 is the only area in region 4 that still has a youth/senior season for cow/calf elk. If the only area you found elk was on mine property then unfortunately you weren't looking in the right area.

Last time I checked you needed a horse to get across the creek and that was before this years washout. It's an old road not maintained or used by industry anymore. My honeyholes have been over-run in that area, but you don't need to go out of the main valley to find elk.
