Hey so i recently added a room to my tent, making it 12x22 with 2 stove jacks, the original is a 5" in the middle back wall which i have a small stove for..
The new stove jack is a 6" in sidewall by the front.
My new bigger stove uses 6" so i would like to try out the side wall one this year.
What is the best angle? How high should it be? does the end need to be verticle?
Any other advice.. here are some pics from my test run with the new stove and addition.

I've found that if the angle is sloping towards the stove, moisture, water, black gunk works its way down the pipe and onto the stove making a nice pool of black gunk burning on the stove. Sometimes it makes it to the elbow on the stove and drips out onto the floor. Add the restriction to flow with the elbows is making me seriously debate putting a jack out the roof.

Your bottom photo shows how you DO NOT want the stove pipe . I would suggest another elbow and and 2 more sections going straight up , you want your stove pipe to be as high or slightly higher than your peak . This will help your stove to draw properly and keep your tent from filling with smoke .

We run our stove with 2 elbows support the pipe with a crude tripod lashed together with some green poplars .
