That cody powell is a killer, he has been on a hot streak, he has guided all their big rams the last few years. Way to go cody.

They got a really nice sheep but I was around for the week before hand a few km's from where it was shot. I was basically across the 'river' and saw the little white and red plane cruising around the hills daily from July 30th to when I heard the shots last week. I can understand the client is paying top dollar for a nice sheep but that ram was likely located and picked out from the plane in my eyes.

Nice sheep.
But if the above post is true Buck and his partners might be next on the list of short-time
Yukon outfitters. 48 hour ...fly, spot, communicate and hunt wildlife rule applies up there.

Flying to find the big ones is the new way of hunting sheep. In Alaska almost all of the big Dall's are taken this way. The last ten years in the Yukon, maybe more, things have been going the same way. A 48 hour wait is not long enough in my mind. If you know a huge Ram is on a mountain it totally changes the odds to your favor. I know of one outfitter in the Yukon who has been flying for years and states that he knows of every single legal ram in his concession every year. Years of outfitting the same area and flying over 100 days a year and always looking for sheep.

Me thinks that's the way it's been a long time. That's why when a resident bags a great sheep there is much respect due, it takes alot of work and smarts to triumph over big$$$$$.

The wait in B.C. is only 6 hrs!
