Figured it was coming.
Going to be some old timers dissapointed because they would have LEH'ed somewhere or for something else if they had of known.

busy up the bull seasons now, most ranchers wont be happy it wont take long for the cows to move back in the ranch lands, but I am sure there is a good logical explanation

Even tho I support the closure, I do not agree with the timing aspect of it. the gov most likely knew the plans before the draws were out as to why they waited till after the draw sound's like a cash grab to me, alway's giving it dry to the taxpayer and resident sportsman.

How is it a cash grab????? If anything the govt missed out on $$$$ as these people that are affected would have entered LEHs for elk that some did not even bother because they had a GOS for cow/calf.

ICBC will be more disappointed than anyone with this news, more elk on the highways = more claims

I am going to call just to be sure but it looks to me like bow season is still ok. They should make it more clear for people. I had a friend phone and say no cow elk this year lol he read it different than me so. Anyway happy hunting

Main reason why it took so long to get it sorted and published ---- PROVINCIAL ELECTION...

The Minister did not want to close it prior to the election and potetntially lose voters, then had to wait til tehy were back in power and then drop the bomb... The Minister had been toldby early spring this year it should be closed...

It doesn't affect any LEH draws. Only the three listed open seasons are closed. Other antlerless seasons (4-6C, 4-23A, bow season) and other elk openings are unaffected.
