Chilko Lake

Has anyone on here had any experience fishing Chilko Lake. We are heading out that way today.

I thought about fishing there a few times,but I drag around a 12 foot boat with a two horse Honda,so I am thinking it might be a bit small for the size of the lake. I heard the wind can come up fast there. I like going a little farther west around Anahim and fish some of the smaller lakes around there. Let us know swamper how you made out.

I fished there about 5 years ago. Came in through Nemia & camped at the campgound. We trolled south of the Island to the left of the campsite & caught alot of Bull trout up to 10 lbs. Williams Whitefish Wobblers 4-6 inch were the ticket, on downriggers, & yeah, watch out for wind storms. I have a 26' jet boat & we also made a run to the river about 10 miles north. It's beautiful in there.

We were there last year. Beautiful lake and some nice fish but often not fishable due to severe winds. Need to take your boat out quick if the wind picks up as not many places to hide and its known to last for days sometimes. h water is so clear you cant tell you have water in a glass jar.... oh and its freakin cold
