Good mornin! Hey does anyone have any input on a good backpackable solar batterie charger?? I'm looking into a delorme SE, but it only has a inernal rechargeable batterie. They claim it will last 100 hours, but I would like some kind of a charger, just in case. I appreciate any input. Thanks!

I picked up a small solar panel at CT a couple of years ago. I use it to keep my battery charged for my electric trolling motor. It measures about 5 inched by 15 inches, which would make it pretty portable for your needs.

If you're just looking for emergency backup, a hand crank charger might be worth thinking about. Then it could also be used at night. Obviously you wouldn't want to charge anything up completely by cranking, but it could work to give it enough juice for a few messages.

Hey thanks alot guys! I was a little late on looking for one for a fly in hunt I just got back from. Was hoping to find one for my iPhone so I could use my spot connect. Ended up not finding a charger in time. On a side note tho, I did get 10 days sending 2-4 messages a day and shutting my phone off in between messages, and still came out with 20% batterie left! Not to bad!
