I know where there's a huge flock of them, it's a long drive though...tossing it around...everyone limits out in a few minutes...

I was 4ft from this guy eating berries while we were hiking in Garibaldi last weekend. His little buddy was running around behind us. Another place , another time , would have been 2 in the bag.

Got 6 out of the 7 in 8-4 on the weekend. Took 2 from a covey of about 6 birds, the others were all singles. Not as much action as expected, but was our first hunt in this area and found a few good spots not to hunt, and only one spot to return to.

Saw 10 yesterday and shot 4. We let some go because the birds themself were very small. The size was comparible to a quail.

Over the course of a few days I covered every trail in 2-2 as far as the jeep could make it and a ways further by foot to stalk and still hunt on some of them. The only game we saw were snowshoe hares (no opening in 2-2) and the biggest grouse I have ever seen. It was enormous. True story.

Nice one hare_assassin! I am guessing that was a Kamloopian blue grouse? No joke about the one I saw in 2-2. I spent half an hour after the sighting looking for him or his buddies, before my hunt was interrupted by some drunken folks screaming and flailing about... came out to find some belligerent naked guy who had lost control of his bladder. Guess he managed to wet himself head to toe. His gf wanted me to help with the car problems and Mr wetty-no-pants asked to see my rifle and actually tried to reach for it. Wish my dashcam picked up the whole ordeal. I left them on the trail, ran into a park attendant and gave him the info. Very sad. They had a two or three year old kid in the car. Region 2 at it's finest! You will see a drunk naked person in the bush before you'll you bag a critter.

I tried West Harrison on Saturday. We drove up until Mystery Creek and then around Chehalis up to the landslide. Hiked around a little. Neither tracks nor poop. No grouse either. Turned around a made our way back. Saw 3 chipmunks and a dying broken stem fern flagging in the wind that excited me. I think I will try Merritt this weekend.

Yep. A nice big dusky. Her mate got away, unfortunately, but I got a couple ruffies and a spruce that day, so the eating was good Saturday night.

Region 2 sounds like a gong show. Holy crap!
