Here is a photo of my mountain lion taken on Boxing Day 2006. It was one of the most exciting hunts I have been on, something that every hunter should experience at least once. This Tom cat measured 7'2 from nose to tail. The skull measured 14 3/8". It was a great way to end my 2006 season.

The photo looked good while it was up! Although I haven't been on a cat hunt it is definitely on my list and I am sure the hunt is full of action and adrenelin. What did the cat weigh, how long was the hunt, was this your first cat hunt, etc.....

Congrats on harvesting a beautiful animal!

Nice cat! He has some great colouration, should make a nice mount. Are you planning a lifesize or a rug?

I have been close to many Cats, but this is my first. It was taken not too far from home. I figure he weighed around 175lb. I chased him on Dec 23rd, but couldn't catch up to him. Ofcourse the next two days were no-hunting days [unless I wanted to be single again:sad: ]. I was able to sneak out of the house super early on Boxing Day while the family and in-laws were fast asleep:smile: . We cut his tracks at about 9am and after an intense chase up and down some big country through 2 feet of snow, the Tom was mine at 2pm. Definately a hunt to remember! He will make a beauty life mount, and as SSS said, it makes great Sweet and Sour!
Thanks for the posting Marc!

Being new here, do you have your own dogs or did you go with someone else? If you did what region did you shoot that bugger in? Just Curious

Yup, great looking cat. Your dogs did their thing too. Kudos.

Not everyone get's a crack at one of those, you've garnered lot's of envy here.

If you get a chance, tell us a little more on the hounds and how you hunt them.
