Mmmm, don't think there's a barge running any more across ootsa lake. Can drive to the old barge sight and boat across, lots of logging roads if you can boat a quad or 4x4 over. Basically your best bet. Good moose numbers. Never seen any deer over there. Quite a few lakes around for camping, take a fishin pole!

Region 6: Skeena --- MU 6-2 is Ootsa Lake, you can go in float plane, boat or through 6-4 roads off Hwy 35. Moose hunting better in the east section of this MU 6-2 especially later in the fall, and you will see bear and deer as a bonus while lookin for the huge swamp donkey. Jelvis ( the Pelvis) I wood say a WINNER area for the moose, deer and bear. Big Bull Moose whoa!

Don't think you can hunt from anywhere this side of ootsa lake. Hwy 35 will take you to the francios lake ferry, still another hour+ to get to east ootsa barge, or andrew bay if you have area B and are boating in. Are you drawn for A or B? If A you can cross at the barge sight, if B I think the only accesses would be plane or boat. If your in B, the water gets big and rough. Iv never hunted either, but trapped across from the bage sight a few times. Always seen lots of moose.
