Okay people. I was reading my Bugle mag and there was an ad for these bad boys. Anyone have experience with them? I might try them out this spring on a bear

Nothing in particular - I just prefer the "cut-on-contact" capabilities of the broadheads that i use. Right now I'm in love with the Razorcaps......as you can plainly see.

Cut on contact are definetiley the best.
I hate mechanicles.

but bowalker, I dont see how you can like razor caps. I tried 2 packs of them out and I could not get any of the broadheads to fly straight. Even after balancing them i had all my arrows doing big circular movements at 30yds.
I then put g-5 montecs on and they were all perfect.

What arrows were you using when you tried to tune the Razors? I use GT 5575's and I also spin the arrows before I shoot them, just to make sure everything lines up properly. Haven't had a problem yet.

I prefer the Montec G5's they are very good fixed broadheads. I have heard that expandables can fail to expand if they are shot at quartering shots or weird angles. So the arrow would basically glance off the animal. I don't know the truth to this, it is just what I was told. I know three other people that used the G5 Montec's with no tuning to their bow. They flew the same way as a target tip.

MONTEC G5 I have been shooting these since they first came out and love the way you can pass them through a critter and put the arrow right back in the quiver.

First off, as with a lot of new mechanicals, the rage is a cut on contact, the other is if your arrow spine is right on the edge for bow weight and draw lenght it would be hard to get most any fixed blades to fly, your better off with a bit stiffer spined arrow and make sure the broad head spins true on the shaft, and make sue your bow is tuned perfect, cause if'n it ain't not many broadheads will fly true. mechanicals and small diameter broadheads { G5} are just a lazy way of not tuning your bow to it's full potential.
I've had nothing but pass thrus with both mechanicals and fixed, I shoot only 60#.
Just my $0.5 worth

I'm going to stick to the ol' basic Muzzys like Bowwalker.
I never any thing good about with mechanicals.

The rage is one mech head I was looking at using this spring. Their cam lock system is way ahead of the rest of the mech heads also with their cut on impact tip. But like eagle 1 says using mech heads can be an attempt for a poor bow tuning. I have not found anyone around here who carries them yet. Worth a try, Muzzys still make a strong head and fly great.

I choose one peice cut on contact over mechanicals for the simple fact that moving parts have the potential to fail.....not saying they will but there is certainly much more potential for it to happen over a fixed head. I shoot the Montec because it is 1 solid peice of steel and I can't think of anything more failproof than that.

Just my opinion
