This evening, at our regular Rod & Gun club meeting, we were advised that 11 elk from the Sunshine Coast had been moved to the head of Stave Lake. Plans call for another 11 or so to be moved there sometime in the near future.

Also, MoE plans to move 25 head to the upper Squamish River. I believe this is to happen this year.

In several years it should be eligible for LEH. Good news for sure

How does one get involved in these relocation projects? I have heard about the relocation in the Indian, Pitt, and Stave water sheds. Would volunteer my time to help in these projects?

I'm waiting for my chance to volunteer in population control

It will be a nice to see Elk on the tops of the hills around places like Blinch lake and such.

I'm sure the Stave Elk will soon migrate to the low lands and be in the farmer's fields and on the highways.

Oh... what a nuissance those elk.
