Beauty spring! I used to make the trip up there each year from Hardy. Kind of ruins a person for fishing anywhere else.

From my understanding, the short fat ones are generally Whonnock river fish that come in around early August. You can't miss the smell. Early July is the Kilbella fish, generally reds and more torpedo shaped. In any event, a 43lb chinook is a terrific fish, and taken in a beautiful fishing area. Congrats.

All I know Alli is catching a Spring Salmon on a rod is IMHO the most exciting fish to catch bar none.

I feel pretty lucky that I get to go every year.

That's how I feel when sturgeon fishing but then ive only caught a salmon in the fraser river but i do remember my steelhead fight.... Ive never caught an ocean salmon yet..... Its on my bucket list... Now my sister has a big ocean boat, I'll get to go with her one day.
