Well I got skunked again this year for LEH. But a friends group got there moose draw for 5-01 end of sept. So I figure if I have time off I will tag along and help out and look for a 4 point mulie. I have been up in the Sheridan Lake area a few times years ago but that was before I got into hunting so I wasn't paying attention to any "sign" in the area. So any pointers, good camping spots or areas to avoid for moose and deer in 5-01. Is the south west Sheridan area a decent spot?

We will be heading up there for some pre-season scouting. But this will be the first moose hunt for everyone. Any help would be great

There's a rec site at Pressy Lake which is right on the 3-30 / 5-01 boundary. Anything north of the road is where you need to look. Turn right at the 70 mile pub and head in IIRC 25km or so. They're in there, my buddy had that draw 4 years back, saw a few bulls, some of them damn big ones. He never did seal the deal though :(

Can't remember the lake we stayed at but we did get a bull out of there a few years back.

We had that draw (but for later in the season, Oct. 15-30) and didn't seal the deal either. We hunted mainly around the Lone Butte/Fawn Lake area but did also head up towards Windy Mt. area. We saw about 5 bulls on our scouting weekend but when we were back in two weeks with our tags saw lots of cow/calf on both weekends. Of course our tags were for bulls. And this year, no success on the LEH. Feel free to PM me and I can share more info that I got last year. It was my rookie moose hunting trip too.

Sheridan park resort has them as well as the outdoor store at Interlakes and they are waterproof.

There's good info in this thread. All the deer F off beginning of September around Sheridan.
