This is the deer, I took on November the 19th after 3 hour's of hauling/dragging it to my truck I was still hunting my favorite, it was a very enjoyable hunt 65 yard shot with my browning bar in 7 mm. This make's deer No. 12 out of the same area. I've hunted this area for 20 year's and I have yet to see someone else hunting in this area. I see lot's of people road hunting, the trick is to get off the road, find an area that has lot's of shed's, and hunt that area in the late season better yet during the 4 point season that seem's to get rid of all the weekend warrior's.

I took this in the same area, I just wish I could have scored it as a blacktail. Where's the boarder line in regard's to blacktail/mulie? I hear once you leave Hope, your out of the blacktail area. Can anyone tell me?

I seem to know of one guy that goes into that area quite often. Even i have seen a nice buck.
You should post some pictures of some of the other bones that you have collected over the years.
Spring time we go for the bears.

great looking buck. nice 1990 (am i right?) Toyota 4runner too. Almost identical to my dad's, cept your doesn't have all the japanese wannabe 4x4 stickers on it, and your steering wheels probably on the proper side. ;) Love the meat rack. Build it yourself?

Nice deer, I think all the deer in that area are hybrid's.(mulie/blackie) They have unique looking faces smaller bodys and don't seem to get huge racks even when there old. This is not just my opinion I have heard this before.Tough hunting area congratulations!

both bucks do have that blacktail look to them. The 2nd pair of antlers look much more blacktail like. What do they score?

Jones lake north is the border for blacktails, that is a muley.

The border for blacktails is Ruby Creek, just west of Hope. There are tonnes of deer up in Boston Bar. No ones up there cause everyones got somewhere better to go! It is a great place later in the season and my buddies and I have got a few nice bucks out of there in the past few years. I usually do the drive from Boston Bar to the Coq, then to tulameen, and back up through Brookmere, and back. Good road to road hunt.

I hae to say, one of the nicer ones I've seen come out of there. I hunted there every year , except this season. It seemed last season it was soo congested, I said screw it.

I've seen a hybrid whitetail/muley pulled out of there few years back as well. Also know of a real nice whitetail bordering 3-14 and 3-12, I've brought him in a few times but could never get a shot.
