years ago we used to have a good June coho fishery off Sooke-then nothing, the coho disappeared.
Anyway,we were out this morning off the Bluffs, and couldn't keep them off the line.Retention is 2 hatchery and all wild[ unclipped hatchery] have to be released. We had another fish to fill our limit but we came in,no sense in killing fish.Sure nice to see the coho back though

Dad had a great day out there on Coho as well...
saw a guy ot at the 500' line by himself,, chinooking at Trap shack was slow so they poked out to the Coho spot..... They were int a bunch of fish..

Same at CR and Comox-- please make sure to turn in the heads of clipped fish. We have to find out where these fish are from and what the hatchery strategy is that worked so that it can be duplicated elsewhere !

Glad to hear some guys are having success. I'm back in Sooke this weekend and was out at Gordon's beach for a BBQ - saw alot of guys out on the water and it got me all misty eyed.....

Coho fishing is on fire in Sooke right now, was out yesterday and even fishing tight to shore for springs we had at least 20 on the line. Easy limits and lots of them are hatchery and a decent size for this time of year, get out there!
