I found a five point elk shed while cruising through the timber at work yesterday, and was surprised to say the least. I've seen lots of elk in the Otter Valley area but I had no idea they had made it west of the Coq. Has anybody else seen any elk sign west of the Coq?

I heard from a hunting neighbor of mine that there has been traditionally a herd in the Merritt area, is this also true?? If so, maybe they're expanding to these other regions?? They do move lots I hear...

That would not surprise me. That's not too far from Tulameen as the crow flies. There was some elk seen in Westwold over the past couple years. They are now seeing them in Bridge Lake and Deka Lake area this year. Look at the Grandforks and Creston areas, it look a lot like Merritt. Hey, 25 years ago there was no whitetail in Merritt, now look at it.

They are also in around Boston Bar, Lyyton area. I have also seen their tracks in 3-14.
