Thought a few of ya might find this interesting, caught a char the other day that was so crooked I woundered how it could even swin. Old injury, likely from when it was little as there were no scars visible. You can see in the pic the curved spine. First for me. Bit on my old standby, Mepps Cyclops 1 oz, rainbow trout colors.

Its called Piscine Scoliosis and can be caused by many things. Normally they get taken out by prey long before that size.

Well, no, I usually tip them loose by the boat if I can. This thing required a picture. But it did go back in. Takes to long to grow'em.

Funny thing was my son was busy releasing one beside the boat, so I grabbed a rod someone had set down to help him and dropped a hook over the back of the boat( I hadn't been fishing, just boat drive'in ) no sooner touched the bottom and it hit.

A pic, let it go, then back to just boat drive'in

It seems to be thriving quite nicely.

Amazing actually, it was very limited in its movements. Fish looked healthy though. So maybe it won't live to be 50, but should have a few more years to rome the deep waters.
