Terrace bear

My brother finally got his first bear.
Just happened to look over a log setting as the bear was moving across a log and then disappeared. Got into position and waited for over an hour in a slight drizzle for the bear to move again. My brother let the shot go and got him a little forward of the lungs. He then let off another round scoping himself and catching the bear in the back.
The bear took of into the bush. We thought he got a good clean lung shot and expected him to be pilied up not far away. But the wounded bear stumbled down the steep hill side possibly rolling at times and made it a lot further then we expected. Caped and quartered him out in a steep creek gully and had a long hard hike back up to the truck. I took some video of the tracking shaky at times and with my dog on his first hunt. Meat smells good and will be made Into burger andsausage
