We had one of these guys doing the same thing in our camp during our hunting trip last week. He stood on the same log the entire 4 days we were there about 20 feet from the tent. Sounded like a quad starting up. The joke was he must have been ugly or a poor drummer because he certainly wasn't getting any action!

Thanks so much to everyone for the positive comments about the video. It does take a lot of time to make and it's nice to see that people are enjoying it.

It's amazing how close you can get to spruce grouse, especially during mating season. They certainly are a colorful bird and they know how to put on a show.
