View Full Version : Turkey sighting in Chilliwack
I was walking my dogs at the end of Gill rd in Rosedale yesterday morning, walking on a trail thru the forest when lo and behold, 20 yards in front of us there is a wild turkey laying in the middle of the trail, I was shocked! I have never seen anything like it around here, unfortunatly I had left my phone in the truck, so no pic. I realize that it is probably a bird that has escaped from a local farm, but it was cool non the less, and I am hoping some hens escaped too, maybe Mr Tom can start a family :-D

about 500 yds from where you were, on gill rd. there is a farm that raises "organic" turkeys, chickens and pigs. my guess is that you saw an escapee.

yeah, i kinda figured it was an escapee, i have heard wild turkey are spreading, but i dont think they have made it this far :)
I have started to see wild turkeys in the Fraser Canyon the past couple of years. Was surprosed the first time but it seems they are moving west.....maybe a future GOS!
