Monsanto: how do we stop em??

Its great that people all over the world including here in BC and the rest of Canada are doing protests and stuff, but will that stop the plague that they have become from having the same stranglehold in Canada as they do in the USA?? Is there any petitions going around that can legally hold them off?? I know that a large amount of our food that we buy is from companies that are under Monsanto already, and feeding my family any genetically modified crap is scary..What's your opinions all...
