I was recently emailed pictures of two albino moose allegedly spotted in the Okanagan this past fall. I thought they were interesting enough to pass along but I am not totally convinced of their authenticity. Although I don't disbelieve albino moose could exist in the Okanagan I know that a good photo editor could do wonders.

What do others think? Has anyone seen these pics before?

you will need to host the pictures on an internet server somewhere, Try photobucket. They are currently on your C drive and we don't have access to your machine...

I'll try and figure out how to post the pics, they were all over the 97.7 kB size limit so I could not attach via the normal method.

well C: means you're harddrive and misc is in your documents you need to up load to a photsite like photobucket or magix than you post the tag for the pic using [img] format

4Pointer......

I may be able to save you a bit of frustration.

Have a look at this site and you may see the pics there. There is number of them in Northern Ontario; the pics that are always posted about white moose are these particular ones and they have been stated to be from anywhere from Quebec to the PG area.

Interested to see the pics if they are not from this guys site.

MB Boy ...did you see any of these pics on the http://www.whitemoose.ca/ website? I looked at all 3 pages of their moose picture gallery and could not find any exact matches?

The rest of the pics sent to me are in my HBC gallery.

Although I didn't look through all the pics on the site it is inevitablly where they are from........although I am not saying 100% for sure, but the look of the country, the fact that it is a cow and calf and I just saw them start to circulate again and have seen them posted in a few spots recently I just kind of assumed.

Let's just put it this way.......I would not be afraid to bet that they are the same population from the Tophet area of Norther ON.

If someone can validate where they are from it would be great.

Not trying to be an ass or discredit your pics at all. I can pop them along to my father who if anyone had seen the pics from their origin I can assure you he has. I spent half my holidays looking at moose pictures and video film, and MANY pics sent by e-mail.

It's quite possible your correct, certain terrain elevations in Ontario may look simular to the Okanagan's. The email said the pictures were taken outside of Beaverdell ...does this look like Hwy 33?, does the terrain match? Maybe the only one that knows for sure is sitting in that red car!

Man they look funny, I wonder what they taste like!

Pass the white meat please!

I got those same ones in an email, supposedly they are from Northern Ontario. I haven't heard of any white moose in the Okanagan, but there could be some. Kinda like lookin' for a spike-fork bull...rare!

Looks like these pictures quite possibly ARE from Newfoundland.

The pictures are most likely authentic ...just not from around the Okanagan!

I hunt 7-11 / 7-12 area....A few years ago in the hunting regs. there was a little paragraph pertaining to the sighting of 3-4 (?) moose in the general area and hunters were asked to refrain from shooting these animals.....

Well you can take it for what you want........sent the pics to my Dad (also known as Doc Moose) and the pictures were taken last spring near Folyette which is in Northern ON where 99% of these pics are always from. He has all sorts of pics of these moose and other biological anomalies in his PC........and trust me, through the XMas holidays I spent more time lookin' at pics than I did at the bottom of my eggnog and rum....just not enough rum in Wpg!!

I've actually seen a white moose, west of Vanderhof, on the road to Oona lake. It wasn't as white as those, but it was white. Unfortunately the camera was packed in the trailer. There were four of us that saw them, just so ya all don't think it was the wisers or something.
