Hey there everyone. I am hoping someone is able to help me with some info about grizzlies. I have a spring grizzly leh hunt for 4-32 (over near Nakusp). I am planning on heading over there on June 1st and staying for a few days. I have been trying to gather as much info as possible in the mean time. I have never been to Nakusp or in the area at all for that matter and have never hunted grizzly either. I will be camping there and have a quad. Any and all help, info, or tips would be appreciated. Thanks for the time. JT

I've hunted lots in 4-32 south area just above highway 6..nice area, your gonna wanna hit the main FSR there before watchsan lake, after snowshoe lake, (Barnes I think it's called) and keep goin for a while (I wouldn't take the right fork, keep goin straight up past all the homes, the main power line and sub station, and old cut blocks..I've never seen a griz up there, lots of blackies though, used to have lots of whitetail deer there but every season I've gone back it gradually gets worse for them..head up high and do what Wild One says and you'll be fine good luck

I know as much as you do about your area so not much help there. I would pick up a Backroads map book for the area and if you need bigger scale a phone call and they will print the map you want for around 12 bucks. Then hit google earth to see what you can find for south facing slopes/slides and cut blocks. At least you won't be going in blind. Spend the middle of the days checking out all the real estate you can for your morning and evening hunts and glass as much as you can. Good luck on your first Grizz

Ledge Creek is the dividing point. B is North, A is south.

Just read a thread on here not long ago about using distressed fawn calls for bears. Sounds like they work like a charm. Might be worth a shot. Good luck and safe hunting. Hope to read a story and see some pics of a big ol bruin on the ground from you soon
