165 Grain?

Hey everyone. I was out last weekend black bear hunting and got close to gettin a big cinnamon bear. I havent seen one this big for a long time. We were loaded with 165gr hornadys with a polymer tip. After seeing a bear that size I got to thinkin if that's a big enough bullet. Anyone have any thoughts on this. Also it was a 30 06 round

Great load out of the 06 with Nosler Partitian, Elk, Bear, Moose, Deer ..... ETC ..... its the placement .......

That'll do nicely. I shoot a 150 gr. TTSX out of my wsm for everything.

lighter bullet, but usually more velocity, so still more than adequate to take down a bear, or anything else in BC for that matter. Just put it where it counts is the most important thing.

pretty sure that bear wasn't bigger than a good moose.
it's just a bear, not some mythological monster.
it'll die just as easy as something else.
worry more about your accuracy and less about the club.

I killed a black bear with a 53gr bullet, so I think a 165gr bullet would probably work. ;)

polymer tip... could be an SST or a GMX. Both will work but I've seen too many SSTs blow apart for my liking. I use the 165 GMX out of my ought six, and they're deadly

Use a 165 grn Interbond, have done for years, lots have fallen because of them.

28 black bears and 2 grizz with 130 grn.Remington Core-Loks. out of my .270.Never a problem.In fact I sent a photo of the bullet I rcovered from the BIG Grizz(9 foot 6 in. and 28 years old) and a photo of the bear to Remington and they sent me 2 beautifull gold and Pewter Elk head belt buckles.It ain`t what you shoot,it`s how you shoot.
