Was driving through last weekend and saw a nice blackie on the road. Was curious if there are many colour phase bears out that way? Or how the black bears hunting is? looking to use my bow.
How much does the population of colour phase bears differ from east to west. Or north to south.

Thanks!

i've seen a sow with three different coloured cubs with her.
i've never considered that different regions affect their phases.
always just figured it's a black bear trait in general.

Have seen mostly blacks around Tunkwa Lake-Logan Lake area, but often see colour phase from dark cinnamon to light beige around Stump Lake-Nicola Lake and east.

If you see a damn near white/blonde bear...DO NOT SHOOT IT!It don`t matter where you are in the province,Gov will call it a Kermode and screw you to the wall.
