So on my way to check my trail cams I've come across two areas all scraped up. One deer height. The other one higher and bigger like elk or moose and I have seen elk in that area a few weeks ago. Can I expect these animals to come back to the same trail this year during the rut?

correction
i ment to say rubs. Lots of trees rubbed bare and some trees pushed right over.

Scrapes or rubs ? IMO it depends on if these were first made during the rut or just a territorial rub made earlier or later on in the year. Also if you noticed these during the rut most likely it is a well travelled/used area but that's just my two cents worth.

i would say yes if there are rubs in that area, most likely the same or another deer will come around and make new rubs to claim the area, or challange the deer in the area. There are 2 pics of a spot I have been trying to get a deer I know they hang out. 1st pic was 2 season ago and the 2nd was last year can't say its the same deer but if deer travel an area, most likely other deer have too. I would say now leave it alone and done push it out. Maybe throw up a game camera. Stick to that area come season

Yeah I'm getting a few more cams to put up. I just can't move my existing game cams because of how popular they are with the elk. I just can't find any deer other than the odd doe coming by the camera. I have some photos of scrapes if someone can post them for me.

I have found that sometimes animals will move to a new location latter on during the summer months not all the time depends on hunting pressure water and food etc ,as the rut approaches I find male animals will move to different areas looking for females to rut with so there is a 50,,,50 chance that the animals you see in an area now might be there come opening of hunting season as for the deer scraps I have found out that the same deer comes back to the scraps they had made the year before this does not happen all the time but sometimes especially WT deer not so much for mule deer and for elk not at all..

I have set up a mineral lick with a trace mineral block and 50lb bag mixed into the dirt. The elk have taken to it and are in on a regular basis. Is there anything else I could do to help keep them in the area till September? There is a water source right beside the lick.
