Hey boys.
So......I am now well aware that you cannot purchase a scope in the States and bring it to Canada.......................................
So what do I do? Where do I shop? Anywhere I can get a deal or a demo? Please point me in a good direction. Thanks.

Site sponsors, the exchange forms here and CGN........if you know what your looking for or even if you don't, google is your friend, recommendations speak volumes about a scope and you can probably find write ups and retailers for just about every scope on the market.

So I found a place online and gave it a try. If it works out well start to finish I'll put their name up here and tell others about it.

It's been a couple years well 3 actually that we bought a scope in vegas for Peter's at the time new rifle. We had no issues bringing it across the border, as a matter of fact, he had it in his carry on bag and was looking at it in the airport at the planes on the runway. Then when we landed in Bellingham, he declared it and we went inside the customs building and the officers just talked huntin and checked out the optics on the scope............we knew you could not bring ammo and guns over but no issue with the scope so must be another new change..............

anyways BiggNuggets as others have said there are some great sponsors on the site who I am certain can help you with your scope needs.

Importing a scope into Canada isn't the problem. It's unauthorized export & possession that makes you a potential US criminal. But then, it's not illegal if you don't get caught.

Getting the Cdn import permit takes two days, then about three weeks for the US export permit that the
vendor applies for on your behalf...webyshops.com for one does that for you. If I can find it for a similar
price in Canada I'm happy to support our businesses...and it seems lately the gap has closed between
US and Canadian prices. I'm not seeing things like the Webyshops sale where I bought a Bushnell 3-9X40
Elite 4200 for $210 a few years ago, when they wanted just over $400 for it at Wholesale Sports.

So I ended up not taking any chances on sneaking a scope across the border and ended up emailing a number of scope retailers in Canada. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Bushcraft Canada was willing to work with me and is a BC retailer. Ended up with the Minox I wanted for nearly the same as importing one. Love the scope.

What about a scope bought from the state that is just from a resident not a company . personal deal?

Doesn't matter. Export is export. Do you think you're the first person to try and game the system?
