My son just passed his CORE and will have his own hunting license tomorrow. I know if we hunt using firearms he has to be directly supervised, but what if he is using his bow?

I spent many, many hours as a kid traipsing through the bush by myself with my .22. I'd love it if he could experience the same independence with his bow.

I'm thinking grouse, not spring grizz;-)

A bow is not a firearm.

Thanks XMD, that's what I was looking for. When he wrote his CORE the instructor and I had a discussion about the need to supervise with a firearm but I couldn't find it in the regs to check. RTFM.

I've been teaching the CORE course since 1976. I know most of the Regs by heart.
