Another" Youth" hunter question

I have a son who will be 18 on July 22nd. Can he shoot a deer in the first 9 days of Sept in reg 8. He has passed CORE and has his own license.
The regs say under 18.(correct me if I'm wrong). But when filling out LEH's some species say 18 this year(wording along that line).
So is it 18 when he bought the license or 18 when he shoots the deer or 18 in this calendar year?
I was planning on phoning CO office and finding out from them but thought I would ask HBC today.

As this is a regular hunt, I would not look at the LEH regs. The youth hunt for region 8 says anyone under 18 years of age. As your son will already be 18, I would say he cant hunt the youth season.

That is the way I read it also. He has to be under 18 yrs old. My son missed last year by 2 weeks.
