It would be appreciated if anyone has any information regarding the theft of a trail camera from the 51 mile mark of the G-main near the Elaho River.
The prick crossed the trench on an ATV that was dug across the road at 50.5 mile (the no motorized vehicle mark) and stole the trail cam that was set up by the local wildlife biologist over a dead moose that a grizzly was feeding on. The barbed wire around the alders to catch the fur for DNA sampling and the proximity to the side of the road might have tipped anyone of average intelligence off that this was more than just a scouting location. The thief cut down the alder that the camera was locked on and made off with not just the camera but pictures it may have contained that would aid in valuable monitoring of the valley's Grizzlies.
As you may imagine, the MoE doesn't have unlimited resources and the loss of this camera is a big deal.
Any information regarding someone illegally travelling beyond this trench on an ATV over the weekend could be passed on to the local CO or PM'd to me and I will forward it to the proper authorities.
