After the shot, the bears usually cry/howl..... last one I got had whole lungs blown into bits and yet he howled very loudly few times.....How does he do that without lungs?

Its the chest and diaphragm muscles that expand and contract to draw air in and out not the lungs.

Makes sense, I rolled my first bear on to its back and it let out groan and gave me a good jump.

I've never had one make a noise after being shot. Some bolt, some slump over and die on the spot. One jumped up and waved his good arm around and held his other shoulder (that was shattered) before writhing on the ground until he bled out.

Ha ha, yeah my first bear did that too but it was my hunting buddy who jumped and almost shot it again.

Kidds don't have enough horn to qualify. Billies and Nannies do.

Ya if your queezy you will want to make a perfect shot on a bear then give him 20 minutes before you go up to him ... they die pretty hard, very tough animal
