I'll be up in 100 mile house bear hunting in may and thought I'd spend a few days in 3-39 after to see if i can help out with the wolf population. Never hunter wolves though so any advice would be much appreciated. Figured I'll spend the afternoons to early evenings waking any game trails with tracks unless you guys have better ideas. Which you probably do ;-). Thanks in advance!

Probably the most difficult animal to hunt....Check out Proguide66's posts. I've only seen a wolf once....

^. Yeah I just may do that. Probably worth getting a fawn distress call too. We'll see how things go. Counting my eggs before they hatch a bit. Have to get a bear for the freezer before I look for wolves. I'll give wolves an honest shot, but expect to do more learning than anything. Luckily I like to walk

fawn distress may work get a wolf howler too no point in calling with a fawn distress if they arent there

Like the site, tried to register twice (different usernames and emails each time) - both times it sent me passwords but wouldn't let me sign in! If anyone related to the site sees this and can give me a hand I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Hi Rob, I'll go approve you right now. There's a "screening" procedure we go through, it's on the main page.
You pass. ;)

NoahDawg I tried to register but won't even go through. Keep getting an error, canis??? Is not correct. But I entered canis lupus. Frustrating!

I don't know if you have your bear and wolf spots around 100 mile already picked out, but if not PM me and I can definately point you in some good directions for both.

Another suggestion, once you kill your bear, set up cross wind and as long a shot as you're comfortable taking away from your bear's gut pile, I wouldn't be suprised if the wolves come in to scavenge.

Yo Chris.... Hi!

That WolfTracker site is pretty cool from what I've seen so far.

Worth going through the hoops to sign up.

i'd love to bag a wolf.

i'll keep my eyes out on my bear hunt at the end of the month...

Peace

Re: Wolf hunting for dummies
Dummies shoot Wolves with cameras.

Keep your gun handy anytime you are out in the bush.
It's very tough to "hunt" wolves, but if you're ready when you see them you'll have success.

FYI: I've never shot a wolf while hunting them. I've shot many, simply by being ready when hunting other animals.

Looks like I won't have as much time as I'd hoped. But I will guarantee you that I'll be ready ;-)

Just stumbled onto this thread. Has the site been taken down? I’d really like to try my hand at taking some wolves.

says the guy that has never seen a wolf...its easier on quick trips to do it in the winter bc you can see sign. Was talking to a guy that buries beef fat and puts a trail cam up, once the wolves find it he sits on it and waits. Claims to have taken out nearly an entire pack in an area over the winter
